Splash Backs, Full Heights & Window Sills
When it comes to designing your kitchen, it’s the little details that make the biggest impact. Splash backs, full-height pieces behind the hob or sink, and window sills might not be the first thing you think about, but they’re what take your space from practical to beautiful.
Not only do these additions protect your walls from splashes and stains, they also bring a seamless, luxury aesthetic to your kitchen. Using the same Granite or Quartz as your worktops means the colour and pattern flows beautifully throughout the space. Whether it’s a full height splash back that creates drama, or a 200mm up stand, these elements are both stylish and functional.
At Meridian, we take care of the entire process, templating, fabricating and installing everything to perfectly suit your kitchen layout. Every wall is measured with our experienced team to ensure a perfect fit, giving your space a new lease of life.
Tap Holes, Sink Cutouts, Drainer Grooves & Electrical Sockets
For tap holes, please have your tap on site during templating so our team can take accurate measurements and have the holes pre-cut at the factory if you’d like. For drainers, we ask that someone is available to confirm whether you’d like grooves and, if so, which side you’d prefer them on. If you’re having an undermount or inset sink, it’s important to have the sink on site so we can take precise measurements for the cut-out. And finally, if you’d like any electrical sockets cut into your upstands, or a retractable plug socket in your island, please let our templating team know during their visit so we can prepare everything correctly ahead of installation.
What is a waterfall edge on a kitchen island?
A waterfall edge is when the worktop material continues down the sides of the island, creating a smooth, continuous flow of stone from top to floor. Often vein matched creating a seamless look down the side. Instantly bringing a ‘wow’ factor to your kitchen.
Beyond the aesthetics, waterfall edges offer practical benefits too, protecting the sides of your island from daily wear while making cleaning easier. A fantastic edge for a contemporary and traditional looking kitchen with its flowing lines. Only available on 30mm*
Waterfall Edge
A triple curved edge soft to the eye, smooth to touch with a classic aesthetic. Only available on 30mm*
Sharks Nose Edge
Perfect for a handle free kitchen. A slight bevel on the top with a deep undercut. Available on both 30mm & 20mm*
Pencil Edge
Elegant and understated, the Pencil Edge is smooth to the touch and works beautifully in any setting. Available on both 30mm & 20mm*
Half Bullnose
Soft in both look and feel, the Half Bullnose reduces the risk of chipping while keeping a gentle, rounded finish. Available on both 30mm & 20mm*
