A Family Kitchen Transformation in Thorner
In the lovely village of Thorner, what was once an empty village shop has now become a warm and inviting family home. We were lucky enough to play a part in this transformation by supplying and fitting the worktops for the heart of the home, the kitchen.
This project belongs to our client, Dawn Scargill, who took on the challenge of turning a run down building into her dream home. Dawn, a full time solicitor and mum of two, had a clear vision from the start: to create a bright, open plan space that worked for both busy family life and social gatherings.
Bringing Dawn’s Vision to Life
When Dawn came to us, she knew she wanted a kitchen that felt modern but still homely, somewhere that would bring everyone together. We worked closely with her and her kitchen supplier to make sure the materials and finishes would complement her design perfectly.
We supplied and installed the neolith worktops, island, and splashbacks, which quickly became the standout features of the room. The large island sits at the centre of the space, acting as a hub for cooking, homework, and catching up over coffee. It’s functional, hard wearing, and built to handle everything family life brings.
Choosing the Right Material
For this kitchen, Dawn choose neolith, a stone that’s as practical as it is beautiful. It’s durable, easy to maintain, and stands up well to daily use, which makes it a great choice for busy homes.
The deep green cabinetry contrasts beautifully with the light stone surfaces, creating a calm, stylish space that still feels welcoming and lived in. The final result is a kitchen that looks great and works just as well day to day..
